A hobby is thought to be a customary activity that is performed for fun, usually during one’s free time. Hobbies include playing sports, playing musical instruments, collecting souvenirs, and pursuing other recreational activities. In some cultures, the word “hobby” is used to describe an individual’s passion or interest in a specific subject. In other societies, however, the word “hobby” can mean a pastime or even a past-time. In general, hobbies are regarded as a way of relaxing, enjoying one’s time, devoting one’s self to a project or activity, and pursuing one’s dreams.
Hobbies are enjoyable pastimes that people pursue, usually with little preparation. Most people who pursue such hobbies begin by choosing something they are interested in. Hobbies could range from a hobby involving arts and crafts, automobiles, cookery, cleaning, computers, flutes, music, stamps, dishes, and many other things. These may sound so diverse that it may be hard to decide which hobby to begin. For example, if you want to learn how to play the guitar but do not have much experience in the field, you may want to consider joining a club or taking up lessons. You can even learn guitar from your family member or a close friend who is willing to help you out.
If you are considering pursuing a hobby for fun but do not know where to start when it comes to hobbies, you should first determine what types of hobbies you are interested in and have the knowledge or skills needed for. This should be mentioned in your resume. In your resume, you can also mention what types of hobbies you have pursued as a fresher in the past. Hobbies can be mentioned anywhere in your resume as long as they are relevant.
It is always good to bring up your hobbies on your first interview, because you will be able to explain your hobbies better to potential employers. There are some businesses that are not accepting freshers who do not have any related experience. In these cases, bringing up your favorite hobbies or something new people would know you by is one of the best ways to show that you are dedicated to something new and different.
To highlight your best interests in terms of your hobbies, you can go through your CV carefully. In your CV, include your favorite things in terms of your recreational time and the type of leisure time you spend. If you like to go camping once every year, include that on your CV. However, it is not necessary that you must detail all your favorite hobbies on your CV; only those activities that are relevant should be mentioned. Also, if you do not have any favorite hobby, you can mention the type of leisure time you spent and the type of activity you enjoy most.
Another great way to showcase your hobby on your CV is to talk about it briefly in your interview. When you are asked questions regarding your hobbies, let your interviewer know that you are a big fan of a certain film or TV series. This will definitely get you some positive comments from interviewers and may even get you a second interview. For second years, try mentioning how you met your friend or what sports you enjoy most. You may think this is a silly thing to do but it actually worked for many freshers.
You can also mention your unique hobbies on your CV. What are these things? Most students are unaware that there are actually several types of unique hobbies. Hobbies can be in any related field such as learning new things, crafts, technology and animals among others. If you have an interest in learning new things such as computers or writing, mention that in your CV. If you are a member of an educational society, state that on your CV as well.
You can even mention all of your hobbies on your CV. However, keep in mind that the list must be brief and concise. Do not mention all your interests on one cover letter. Instead, select the two or three best hobbies that you have and list them on your CV. Doing so will not make you seem boring or desperate for a job but it will certainly help you stand out from other applicants. This way, you will definitely land the job of your dreams!
