Anadolu'da öğretmenlik yaptıktan sonra İstanbul'a dönmüştür.
Burada Takoz Atakan'ın taksisinde şoförlük yaparak geçimini
sağlamaya çalışan Nazım öğretmenle Dünya'nın yolları kesişir.
Türkücü Dünya, psikolojik sorunları olan kocasından kaçıp
İstanbul'a gelen ve kızıyla birlikte bir pavyonda çalışmaya
başlayan bir kadındır.
Nazım Bey, Dünya'yı her gün işe götürüp getirmeye başlar. Ancak,
bir gün Dünya'nın eski kocası pavyonu basar. Nazım öğretmen de
bu durumu görüp Dünya'ya ve küçük kızına sahip çıkar.

"Gonul Yarasi (Lovelorn) " -- in Turkish

Idealist
elementary school teacher Nazim (named after the great Turkish
poet Nazim Hikmet) retires and returns home to Istanbul after 15
years of teaching in a poor, remote Kurdish village in Eastern
Turkey. Politely ignored by his own children who secretly
despise him for having chosen his ideals over his family, he
begins a new life as a taxi driver. One night, he meets Dunya, a
down-on-her-luck divorcee who works as a "singer" in a sleazy
nightclub. Before he knows it, Nazim takes Dunya and her
daughter in to protect them from Dunyas stalker ex-husband
Halil. Gonul Yarasi (Lovelorn) features an outstanding ensemble
cast, and the inimitable Sener Sen. "Veteran director Yavuz
Turgul ("The Bandit") returns after a nine-year absence with
"Lovelorn," a magnificently thesped, engrossing meller about the
collateral cost of altruism. ... The magnetism of Turgul's
well-delineated characters lies in their ability to suggest
deep, conflicting emotions and the unexpected moral fallout that
results. Turgul's characters tend to be generous and impulsive.
They rarely weigh the consequences of their nobility or

Directions:
From I-5, take the La Jolla Village Dr. exit and head west. Turn
right onto Villa La Jolla Dr. When you get to the T-intersection
at the end of the road, you'll be in front of the Gilman parking
structure. Center Hall is two blocks west of the Gilman Parking
Structure. On weekends you can park on any of the surface lots
as well, provided there are no signs indicating a permit is
required seven days a week (rare). Please see the following map
